I
spent 8 years in the
US
Air Force, but I just left and started my own company. We are
called 5 Ring Insight and use lessons learned in sports to train
business people.

Most
of them are military, but some are supported by family or sponsors.
Because it takes so long to train every day, it is hard to
have a job while training.

you payed for playing pentathlon?

Not
usually.
Sometimes we get a small bonus for a good performance, and
before the Olympics we make a small salary.

What’s
the biggest difficulty in playing pentathlon in your country?

What
do you think about combined event?
|
|
We
have not had good governance in the
US
so we have not done a good job recruiting new athletes.
We have a fantastic training center and could have many
more athletes, but we did not recruit for nearly 10 years.
Hopefully the
US
will have a much stronger team and do better recruiting.
We would like to be much more competitive in the sport as a
nation.

I
think the combined event is a bad idea.
It changes the fundamental way pentathlon is done, it would
be hard to run a competition, and it would be hard for spectators
to watch.
Pentathlon can become more spectator friendly, but the
combined event is the wrong way.

I

Try
to work with a British or US athlete to fix the grammatical errors
in the English translation.
It will make the site look much more professional to have
the translation done by a native speaker.
