After the second World cup event of the 2008 we can show you the
following situations:
Men’s qualification
There are still 2 wild cards and we can suppose 14 (11 + 3) cards in the
olympic ranking.
According to our study we are sure the necessary ranking points for
taking olympic pass will be not more of 127.
It will probably be 123 or less.
So it’s difficult that less than 30 points in one competition or less
than 72 in two competitions could be useful.
Looking at the actual olympic ranking with more than 30 points (one
comp.) or 72 (for two comp.) we can find the following situation:
8 cards of 14 are already sure:
-Walther 175 points and Gebhard 177pt for Germany, Berrou (Fra) 160pt,
Capalini (Cze)147pt, Benedetti (Ita)136pt, Majewski (Pol) 131pt, Meliakh
(Blr)125pt and Bowsher (Usa) 124pt.
The resting 6 cards are probably for the following athletes who have
more than 75 points with two competitions:
-Lopez (Esp) 82pt, Lapo 82pt or Prokopenko 81pt for Belaurs, Cherkovskis
(Lat) 79pt, Garcia 79pt and Soto 78pt for Mexico and Brandt (Swe) with
76pt.
Who have possibility to derange the last 6 athletes up called are:
-one of these Italian: Simonetti and Pecci with 73pt (two comp),
Valentini 38pt, De Luca 34pt and Giancamilli 31pt.;
-Santos (Bra) and Hantov (Bul) with 40pt;
-Papadopolo (Gua) 39pt;
-Sika (Lat), Romao (Bra) with 38pt and Woodbridge (Gbr) 38pt.
-Guitian (Pan) 37pt and Weale (Gbr) 37pt.
-Tisi (Chi) with 36pt.;
-one of these Ukrainian: Tymoshenko 35pt, Borkin 33pt and Kukshin 30pt.
-Maynard (Can) 35pt;
-Abreu (Dom) 34pt;
-Raouf with 33pt or El Geziry (Egy) with 31pt for Egypt.
-Daniel (Aut) and Tebenkov (Kaz) with 32pt
-Floros (Gre) and Johansson (Swe) with 31pt.
-Astier (Fra) with 30pt
-maybe also somebody else, without useful points.
Women’s qualification
In the olympic ranking we can suppose 13 (10 +3) cards.
We think that in the women qualification 110 points will be enough for
taking the pass for Bejing.
Let's see the 13 hypothetical cards:

Samusevich 152pt and Arkhipenka 154pt for Belarus, Rublevska (Lat) with
149, Boenisz (Pol) 145pt (or Dziadura (POl) 139pt), Taormina (Usa)
136pt, Mouratova (Rus) 131pt, Grant (Can) 129pt, Mathe (Hun) 122pt,
Tereshuk (Ukr) 120pt and Grolichova (Cze) with 113pt.
-For the last 3 cards are now in pole position the following athletes:
Sanchez (Mex) 88pt with 2 results.
Trautmann (Ger) 67pt, Fakhry (Egy) 66pt, Rimsaite (Ltu) 60pt all with
two results.
Rodriguez (Cub) 42pt and Lellys (Bra) 40pt with only one good result.
